Privacy policy

This site is a catalogue and a way to reach us. It does not ask you to create an account, and it does not take payments. The only personal information it collects is what you type into one of its forms:

• Circa Trade application — name, studio, role, email, website or Instagram, primary city, what you are sourcing, and an optional resale certificate number.
• Preview booking — name, email, phone, preferred date and time, appointment length, whether you are visiting as trade or as a collector, lot numbers you want to see, whether you are bringing a client, and any notes.
• Evaluation request — name, email, phone, the designer or maker if known, category, dimensions, provenance and condition notes, where the piece is, and any image links you paste.
• Contact form — name, email, subject and message.
• Newsletter — email address and the interest categories you select.

Every form also carries a hidden field that only automated submissions fill in. If it is filled in, the submission is discarded.

Form submissions are delivered to Circa by email at info@circaauctionhouse.com and used to answer you: to reply to an enquiry, confirm a preview appointment, review a piece you want to sell, or set up a Circa Trade account. Newsletter subscriptions are used to send the categories of email you asked for, and you can unsubscribe from any of them.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not pass it to advertisers. Email delivery is handled by a transactional email provider on our behalf.

Saved lots, followed designers, project boards and your display preferences are stored in your own browser's local storage. They are not sent to Circa, they are not linked to your name, and clearing your browser data removes them. Nobody at Circa can see them.

This website sets no advertising cookies and runs no cross-site tracking. Typefaces are served from Circa's own domain, so loading a page makes no request to a font provider.

We record anonymous product events — a page viewed, a lot saved, a form started or completed, a click through to the bid platform — so we know which parts of the catalogue are useful. These events are pushed to a data layer in your browser and read by our analytics tool. They contain lot, designer and auction identifiers, not your name, email or address.

Showroom films are embedded from YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode and load only after you click play. Until then, nothing is requested from YouTube and no YouTube cookie is set. Once you press play, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that playback.

Registration, bidding, invoices and payment happen on bid.circaauctionhouse.com, which is a separate system with its own account, its own terms and its own privacy practices. Creating an account here is not possible; creating one there is governed by that platform's terms. Nothing you save on this website is shared with your bidding account, and nothing in your bidding account is visible here.

Enquiries and applications are kept for as long as we are working with you and for as long as our records require. Circa Auction LLC maintains records of consignments and sales for no less than two years, as described in the conditions of sale.
